A local company extrudes large
underground conduits for heavy electrical applications. They approached
Rochester Manufacturing because they had difficulty machining
the 5-inch diameter plastic couplings used to connect the conduit.
The process produced large volumes of fluffy chips which were
being sent to the landfill. By changing the manufacturing process
to include a chip grinder, Rochester Manufacturing was able to
recycle the chips, saving thousands of pounds of previously wasted
material and transportation costs.
Rochester Manufacturing offers:
- Individualized solutions with capabilities
to achieve close tolerances required of dimensionally unstable
polymers
- Machining of soft and crushable materials
that requires special tooling, cooling, clamping and cutting
equipment
- Deep-hole drilling (50 times diameter)
